Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is sintered from diamond and binder under high temperature and pressure. The crystal structure is isotropic and has no cleavage planes. Although its hardness is slightly lower than that of single crystal diamond, it has good impact toughness.
PCD composite chips fully utilize the advantages of polycrystalline diamond and hard alloy. It has the high hardness, wear resistance, and thermal conductivity of diamond, as well as the impact corrosion resistance and weldability of hard alloys, and has been increasingly widely used in the processing of non-ferrous metals and alloys, non-metallic and hard brittle materials.
